Guessing well is worth more than guessing often. A finished session with the host — one where the film, director, or scene is actually named — scores once, at the end, so abandoning a round halfway to start a fresh one is not a strategy. Reading a full piece from the library, completing a quiz tied to something you have read, and finishing the walkthrough each add a fixed, one-time amount.

Quiz submissions are re-graded server-side against the stored key. A score assembled in the browser is ignored, which keeps the board a record of what people knew rather than what their console could type.

Totals accumulate and never reset, and there is no streak bonus. Someone who watches, reads, and argues their way through a hub over a month will out-rank a single frantic evening of short rounds — which is the point, since the board is supposed to reflect film knowledge rather than session count.

Equal scores are ordered by who arrived at the total first. Scores are not adjusted by hand; when a scoring rule is wrong it is corrected in the rule and every affected total is recalculated together.

Every entry other than your own is shown as a masked handle, for signed-in readers and administrators alike. Your position is visible to you; your identity is not published to anyone else.

Leaderboard data is never handed to advertisers or used for profiling, and it is removed with the rest of your account data if you request deletion.

Experience comes from finishing tracks, passing knowledge checks, filing accepted corrections and returning on separate days. Message volume earns nothing, because rewarding volume only teaches people to type more.

The result is a rough ranking of who has worked through the material — the only thing here worth competing on.

Scores are recomputed on the server from the underlying activity rather than trusted from the browser. Replaying a passed quiz adds nothing, and a correction later reversed removes the points it earned.

Streaks count distinct days rather than sessions, so splitting one evening into six visits achieves nothing.

Only a display name and totals are public — never account emails or session contents. Leaving your display name unset keeps you off the board entirely.

No editorial content is gated behind participation. The board is an incentive, not a wall.
